Polyclinic of the city of Neratovice

2024
Construction volume 11 311 m³
Built-up area 1 187 m²

The new building of the Neratovice polyclinic was built in the city center, near the intersection of Dr. E. Beneš and Mánesova streets. The pure white, diagonally cut block, softened by rounded corners, creates a calm, bright place, shining through the greenery of the city park.

The compact shape of the building has a positive effect on the low energy consumption required for heating and cooling. Not only the prominent horizontal windows, but also the atrium in the middle of the layout ensure plenty of daylight, which significantly eliminates the need for artificial lighting. The green atrium with a water feature and mature greenery also naturally cools the surroundings, as does the green roof of the building.

The main entrance and visitor access is via a new road in the southeastern part of the plot from Dr. E. Beneše Street, the main entrance to the building is located on the southern corner. The secondary visitor entrance is located at the northern corner.

On the ground floor there is an entrance hall with a central reception, which is connected to one of the two vertical communication cores and an inner atrium flanked by a generous corridor with waiting rooms, from which there is access to the bistro, collection rooms and surgeries. On the second floor there are general practitioners' surgeries and specialist outpatient workplaces. The layout of the workplaces is chosen with regard to separating the waiting rooms of potentially infectious general practitioners' patients from other patients. On the third floor there are technical rooms and staff facilities with the possibility of exiting to the roof terrace. The rest of the roof, in addition to the technological routes, is covered by a photovoltaic power plant and vegetation cover.

The supply is solved from the northwest of Mánesova Street, while the supply entrance will allow the arrival of emergency services in case of necessity. The separation of visitor and supply routes guarantees their collision-free operation, as well as the efficient and functional design of pedestrian and vehicle roads. Parking is solved along the southern access road and at the northern supply entrance. For additional parking needs, it is possible to use the areas near the surrounding residential buildings, which offer enough free spaces during the day.

The design and material solution was chosen with a view to the easy usability of the materials after the end of the building's service life, and environmentally friendly materials were chosen. The vertical structures are reinforced concrete walls and columns, the horizontal structures are reinforced concrete beams and folded ceilings made of reinforced concrete hollow panels. The partitions in the building are plasterboard with regard to the variability of the layout and the ease of future reconstruction. The clinic is designed in a passive standard, with heating and cooling being solved through heated / cooled ceilings. The building is equipped with geothermal wells, heat pumps (ground-water). The building is equipped with outdoor blinds. Rainwater is collected in a tank as well as purified wastewater and reused for flushing toilets.
