New use for the former Carlsberg brewery premises in Copenhagen
The Danish brewery Carlsberg was established two hundred years ago at the edge of Copenhagen of that era. In the meantime the city has grown so vastly, that the whole brewery area is no part of the greater centre. The production of beer has also been improved especially in terms of the space required and thus the management of Carlsberg has decided to leave this lucrative plot in the city centre and build a new brewery at the periphery. Carlsberg however is not indifferent to the space that will be left behind once the migration has occurred. Therefore an architectural competition, in which we also decided to take part, was announced to design a new city quarter.
